One Last Story feat. Contrast.
When the voices in your head fight for control. With their new single "Emergency Exit" (feat. contrast.), the Graz-based "HEARTcore" band ONE LAST STORY dives deep into the human psyche. Through a mix of brutal breakdowns, catchy melodies, and raw, unfiltered emotion, they explore internal conflicts, contradictory feelings, and the challenging step of stepping outside one’s own comfort zone. For this track, frontwoman Ani is joined by Kamil, the former vocalist of the German metalcore band contrast. Together, they embody two opposing inner voices: one promises safety offering comfort while simultaneously inducing paralysis, while the other pushes for change, movement, and the courage to finally take action. What initially appears to be a battle between good and evil proves to be far more complex. After all, not every voice that promises safety actually leads in the right direction and not everything that frightens us is necessarily wrong. The accompanying music video also explores this conflict. Black and white, stillness and escalation, closeness and distance increasingly blur together as the story unfolds. Two apparent opposites eventually realize that they are both part of the same person. In the end, there is no clear winner only the realization that we alone must decide which voice to follow. Musically, "Emergency Exit" blends Ani’s signature clean vocals and uncompromising harsh vocals with Kamil’s distinctive voice. The collaboration also features other former members of contrast., bringing the band back to life for this special release. The single was produced by Christoph Wieczorek vocalist for the band ANNISOKAY who is also known for his work with acts such as Electric Callboy, Future Palace, and Within Temptation. With "Emergency Exit," ONE LAST STORY offer another taste of their EP "THROUGH DUST" due for release in early 2027 while remaining true to their musical philosophy: THIS ISN’T CORE. THIS IS HEART.
