Armin van Buuren
Armin van Buuren transforms one of alternative rock’s most recognizable melodies into full-scale uplifting Trance with the Rising Star Remix of “Take Me Home.” Built around the melodic DNA of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ By the Way, the 140 BPM interpretation turns an already familiar hook into an emotional peak-time Trance record that connects Armin’s current output with the classic sound of his Rising Star alias. The idea behind Take Me Home is immediately fascinating. Armin himself introduced the record by asking what Red Hot Chili Peppers’ By the Way might sound like if it were made as a Trance song. The result keeps the unmistakable melodic character of the 2002 rock classic but replaces the original lyrics with newly written vocals, giving the track a separate identity rather than turning it into a straightforward cover. That distinction matters even more in the Rising Star version. At 140 BPM, the familiar melody is no longer simply a crossover hook sitting inside a modern main-floor production. Instead, it becomes the emotional centre of an uplifting Trance arrangement: faster, more urgent and considerably closer to the sound that made Rising Star such an important part of Armin van Buuren’s history. The Rising Star name has always represented a particular side of Armin van Buuren. When he revived the alias for Safe Inside You, Armin described it as a return to the “classic sound” associated with the earlier days of Trance and A State Of Trance. Armada has continued to frame later Rising Star versions around energy, emotion and uplifting intent. That heritage matters on Take Me Home. While the parallel 135 BPM Extended Mix places the song comfortably inside Armin’s contemporary main-floor world, the Rising Star Remix increases the tempo to 140 BPM and gives the material a much more traditional Trance identity. The faster framework dramatically changes the track’s character. The melody gains urgency, the emotional build becomes more pronounced and the payoff feels less like a crossover festival moment and more like the culmination of an uplifting Trance journey.
