LUNA & The Gents
LUNA & The Gents release their first single, “HONEY”, from a new series of studio recordings on September 11, 2026. The project was created by Leendert van Stipriaan, who re-interprets songs from his earlier repertoire together with singer Evelyne “LUNA” Péquignot. What once existed as unfinished or unreleased material has now evolved into a vibrant, full-fledged band. Based in Basel, the band blends country-rock and sixties pop into their signature “vintage pop” sound that is upbeat, energetic, and delivered with a wink. “Honey” explores what really makes someone worth loving. Diamonds, luxury brands, sports cars, and a fat bank account leave the song’s protagonist unimpressed. What matters to her is honesty, reliability, and a partner who’s also her best friend. Real affection can’t be bought: a walk together outweighs a ride in a Ferrari, a single red rose means more than expensive gifts. She’s not looking for a flawless showpiece she wants someone to walk through good times and hard times with. Musically, “Honey” carries that message with plenty of drive and lightness: LUNA’s expressive voice rides over driving guitars, a lively rhythm, and a hook that sticks. The result is a feel-good song with a sense of humor and a message meant in earnest: a lasting relationship isn’t built on status or shine, but on trust, friendship, and mutual acceptance.
