Smeerch
New life for old projects. Smeerch has decided to open his vault of musical bits and dust off a track that dates back nearly 30 years. In the original version of "The Safe Shield", you’ll savor all the October nostalgia that colors our mood during the years dampest days. Clocking in at 131 BPM, the track hovers on a bridge between quirky Melodic House and more traditional House. El Payo’s remix - despite its distant origins - sounds warm and enveloping; its broken, yet fresh and sparkling rhythms, resonate powerfully through the subwoofers, instantly captivating the listener. This new South African sound demonstrates how the electronic music of 2026 can evoke the flavor of jazz standards blended with UK Soul and other contemporary influences - a truly groovy cocktail that allows us to use the "Nu-Jazz" name for a genre once again.
