Figure 9
Figure9, a dynamic UK outfit comprising seasoned music industry heavyweights, release their uplifting debut single, ‘Love Is A High. Written, produced, and fronted by John Baxter, lead singer, songwriter, and founder of 80s hitmakers Re-Flex (best known for their iconic global smash hit "Politics of Dancing"). The single showcases a masterclass in classic guitar-driven songwriting and melodic, acoustic-led rock. Joining Baxter in Figure9 is renowned British drummer Justin Hildreth, whose prolific career includes recording and touring credits with prominent acts such as Thomas Dolby (The Golden Age of Wireless), Roogalator, Blancmange, and Stretch. ‘Love Is A High’ combines dynamic rhythm sections, electric guitar leads, and rich vocal harmonies into a timeless reflection on connection, hope, and emotional clarity. Rooted in the rich traditions of classic soft rock and singer-songwriter acoustic craftsmanship, the track delivers an authentic, organic feel built on decades of shared musicianship. "Love Is A High is about that universal moment of clarity where emotion takes over and lifts you above the noise," says Baxter. "Working on this track with Justin and the band allowed us to capture a live, warm sound that speaks straight to the core of song craft."
