Michael Antony Austin
Singer-songwriter Michael Antony Austin releases his new EP FOURPLAY on October 19, alongside the single WALKING. Across four tracks, Austin reconnects with his lifelong love of AOR, polished 80s pop and Yacht Rock. WALKING is a mid-tempo ballad with a groovy rhythm, pairing a warm, nostalgic sound with a hopeful message about finding yourself and walking your own path! Born and raised in Newcastle upon Tyne (UK) and now based in Germany, Austin has built an extensive musical career with hundreds of live performances across Europe and beyond. Alongside his busy touring schedule in Germany, he has been steadily building an audience for his original music in the Netherlands. His Spotify audience has also grown significantly over the past year. With four albums spanning pop, rock, folk and roots, Austin has never been easily defined by one genre. FOURPLAY explores another part of his musical background, drawing inspiration from artists including Phil Collins, Tears for Fears, Duran Duran, A-ha and Simple Minds. Born and raised in Newcastle upon Tyne (UK) and now based in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, Michael Antony Austin has built an extensive musical career with hundreds of live performances across Europe and beyond, both as a solo artist and with various bands and musical projects. He maintains a busy touring schedule in Germany, while the Netherlands has become an increasingly important part of his live career, with regular performances of his original music. In 2026, his live activities have been accompanied by significant online growth, with his Spotify audience growing from a few dozen to thousands of monthly listeners over the past year. An eclectic singer-songwriter, Austin’s four albums span pop, rock and folk, with influences ranging from Americana and New Country to AOR and British Indie. Rather than being defined by one particular genre, his music reflects the wide range of styles that have influenced him throughout his life. Exploring themes such as love, loss, faith, identity and connection, his songs are both personal and relatable. With the EP FOURPLAY, Austin reconnects with yet another part of that musical background: his lifelong love of AOR, slick 80s Pop and Yacht Rock.
